Howard Johnson Inn & Suites - Structural Retrofits of Concrete Balconies & Steel Staircases

Greene & Bradford, Inc. provided Phase I & II engineering services to Tri Murti Group LLC for structural retrofits of the Concrete Balconies & Steel Staircases (two buildings) at Howard Johnson Inn & Suites in Springfield Illinois.
The scope of work after the structural inspection included but was not limited to:
- Topographic surveying of balconies in poor condition.
- Removal and replacement of full depth concrete balcony slab.
- Concrete Crack repairs of the cracks which are greater than 1/8".
- Furnish and erect structural steel columns, connections, and base plate.
- Furnish and erect deteriorated structural steel staircases as per the drawings.
- Removal and replacement of corroded L4x3x1/4" steel angles at the edge of balcony slab.
- Repair of corroded steel members by welding supplemental steel plates at locations directed by the engineer.
- High pressure water clearing and painting corroded steel members using HRCSA Coating system.
